Bringing in the New Year… with no guilt
I want to wish you all a Very Happy New Year! And I want to ask…What if you tried something different this year?
This time of year often brings in hope and time for change.
Many of us feel guilt about how much we ate or what we ate over the holidays. This guilt often leads to joining the gym or going on a new (or old) diet.
What if you tried something different this year? What if you allowed yourself not to join the gym and decided to try something you genuinely enjoy (although if the gym is your thing, awesome!!!)?
How about you start the New Year with love and compassion towards yourselves and your body?
What if you gave up dieting and practiced self-care?
Like past years, diet culture and marketing will try to coerce us into buying products that promise to “fix” the problem of our bodies and what we eat over the holidays. Have you ever sat and actually listened to the words they were using? Would you speak to a friend that way? Marketers of everyday products psychologically profile us in order to influence us. These words make decisions for us! We become so unaware of how the use of their words shapes our actions.
Of course, if you feel great about the holidays and are content to carry on the way you are, that's great, too! For everyone, the goal is to have a great new year!
Diet culture steals our time, money, well-being, and happiness. I believe it is time to reclaim your right to eat and move intuitively.
